Answers for the questions:

  • If you could only read one genre for the rest of your life, what genre would you choose?

This is like the most tough question to answer! But I would go with the genre ‘Mystery’. Many would have misinterpreted me as the kind of a romantic person from the reviews of my stories, but Mystery is more of the type of books I read.

  • What are your blogging goals for 2016?

Well, I do have a lot of goals for my blog. But here are a few:

  1. To increase my blog posts to 5 a week;
  2. To write reviews in some never-before seen genres to provide an opener for the readers that there are more out there;
  3. To provide not only suggestions to read, but also to guide the new wattpad readers and writers, to name a few.
  • What is your favorite book and why?

I would choose Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child’s  ‘Relic’, which is a combination of Mystery with a supernatural element in it.

  • How did you come up with your blog name?

‘Wattpad Review Corner’ was the name which I coined after much considerations. I want my blog to be a place where people come and visit if they are having a confusion as to what to read in wattpad. I wanted it to be like a hanging out ‘corner’ for the wattpaders.

  • What was your favourite subject at school and why?

My favorite subject was and is ‘Mathematics’. To all those math haters, please don’t hate me!  I just love to work with numbers and love the concept the concept of solving a problem or proving a mathematical fact.

  • What are your favourite hobbies? (other than reading hehe)

Obviously reading! But then she was cautious to mention other than it, so I have to go with cooking. I love to experiment with dishes and fortunately most of the time it just not end up getting burned! I may have even named a few dishes after me 😛 I also love to spend lots and lots of time, browsing about beauty products. Not necessary that I am going to buy it, but I like to gain knowledge more about the beauty niche. if I had not started this blog, i would most probably start one in that field.

  • Which author inspires you the most?

Agatha Christie! I can not believe that a woman would possibly write such a thriller stories, when some are not even ready to read it! Hats off to the woman, who even in such old times were able to break boundaries in the thriller writer’s arena comprised mostly of males and carve a name for herself.

  • Tell me a random fact about you!

The first thing that came to my mind on seeing this question is, “I’m a vegetarian!”

  • What was the first book you ever read?

The very first book I read was, ‘Famous Five-Fives goes to the sea’. after completing it, there was no stopping. I read all of Famous Five and Nancy Drew series in my younger ages and started off with the most serious adults books and now I can’t stop myself from reading any book that I could get my hands on!

  • What is your guilty pleasure?

It would be the songs ‘I knew you were trouble’ by Taylor Swift, ‘Baby one more time’ by Britney Spears and ‘Locked out of Heaven’ by Bruno Mars.

  • If someone wrote a story about your life what would the title be?

‘Misinterpreted corrections’ would be an apt one.

There was this happy author tweeting that he had finally completed a book on wattpad. Amidst the happy congratulatory tweets in response was one tweet, commenting that how a  wattpad story is not equivalent to a book.

You call result of the hard work of days sitting in the night thinking about the development of the story and all those hardships faced when trying to travel past the writer’s block and provide with an interesting story for the readers, from which they only get the benefit of appreciation, as something ‘not’ equivalent to a book?

Man, definitely he is going to need to do some damage control!

There are thousands and thousands of writers out there in wattpad, who writes only to get some recognition, spending precious time in working with the story, without any other expectations. Even when they sometimes have some serious issues with their lives, one single comment from a reader on how awesome the story is, propels them to push past their personal difficulties to continue with their story. After all these efforts, can’t these stories be compared to a book?

What is the difference between a publishes book and a story on wattpad, other than that the book is available in hard copy?

The wattpad stories are definitely interesting, sometimes more than some published books. Both kinds of authors put in their best effort, have equal talent and passion towards writing? How can such a story be not equivalent to a book?

If there are more people out there with the same mentality, they need to reconsider their perspectives and broaden their minds and offer at least some amount of appreciation to these selfless authors, who puts up such beautiful stories on wattpad.

And to all those amazing writers on wattpad, you rock guys!

This one was not the usual type of story that I would normally read. This was definitely not the type of story that you will find a 20 year old girl reading intently on a lazy Saturday afternoon. But that was exactly how I found myself, once I started reading this story. I never imagined to find such an affinity towards the ‘secret spies and military agents’ kind of story, yet I found myself drawn to it once I passed through the first 4 chapters and was so restless to find out what the story is going to unfold into.

So now for all those who are wondering what is all these fuss about, here is the outline: A secret project called ‘Project Sparta’ to train the most brilliant prodigies in US, recruits ten people who are gifted with each of their own exceedingly talented capabilities. After their training period, they are being employed for various important assignments, scattered all around. When one member defects from the group and rebels against the government plotting clever schemes to bring destruction on a mass scale, the Spartans(that is what the trained recruits are called) come together to find out the black sheep and put an end to it.

Xander Whitt is one such exceedingly brilliant person with great memory capacity who is being led into the trail guided by the clues from the defected Spartan. It is almost as if he mocks the other Spartans to find him. It is very difficult to pin point who the Spartan is, because they have been trained so well to cover their tracks that whatever the data that can be found on him is the things that he wanted them to find out. Xander along with the other Spartans spins their own web to nab the defected Spartan.

I haven’t went into much details because I don’t want to break the suspense for those who want to read it. The story then revolves around the ways the Spartans aids the mission with each of their unique yet useful ability to track and come up with a plan. The underground training place and the facilities, the brilliancy and the unique ability of each Spartan is just so impressive. Also the kinds of tests they undergo, the way in which each is devised are so interesting. And the transitions of the chapters altering between the present and the past injects even more suspense to the plot.

For all those guys who love action movies, this one is a must-read! And for those who wanted to venture into a new genre, like me, give it a try! I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

AUTHOR: RACHAEL(@clarifications)

‘THREE SECONDS TO MIDNIGHT’ is not entirely the usual kind of story that one could find in wattpad. It is more like a ‘revealing’ story from one’s point of view, about the concept of death. It also touches the biggest question of,’What happens when one dies?’

This short story perceives death as a person, or more importantly a form of human, who was indeed once a human being. It personifies ‘Death’ as a person doing about his work of taking person’s life away. It contains various instances of Death’s interaction with the souls of people that he took. This conversation also sheds some light on the concept that ‘What you sow, so you reap.’

More than just taking a concept out of people and personifying death, the author also beautifully indicates the amount of goodness, or the lack of it, that one does, shapes his afterlife.

This is not just another story to sit back and read with a cup of coffee. This is just a very short story that could be read in, like an hour. But it makes one to wonder about the possibilities of this story being true, or come up with one’s own explanations.

This is a fresh perspective to look at. Do take a look at it guys!

‘CONFESSIONS OF A WEDDING PLANNER’ by Michelle Jo Quinn is a story with combinations of romance and hard emotions. This is a story revolving around a girl, Veronica, who is having her own wedding planner firm along with her friend, Chase.

Veronica does not say no to anybody, especially not to her boyfriend, Jake. So when he asked her to plan his wedding with an another girl he just met, she said ‘yes’. It is killing her inside to plan for the wedding, where she should have been the bride, but instead found herself in the arrangement side, hurting herself to look past her feelings to arrange a great wedding to her ex-boyfriend.

She is trying hard to keep her emotions at check, when another complication pops up in the form of Levi, a gorgeous guy who is Jake’s close friend. Levi looks like a girl magnet as well as a trouble magnet for girls, so Veronica tries to steer clear of him. But she is going to forget his charms and just appear like he just not exist.

When Ver and Levi and put together by circumstances, it becomes even harder for her to stop herself from falling for him. There happens some dramas in the wedding scenario and Ver is torn between her love for her ex-boyfriend and her growing attraction towards Levi, the best man, from whom she is getting some signals.

Torn between her past emotions and her current overwhelming feelings, she tries to decipher her true feelings and where they lie.

This is a romantic story with lots of complications which every love story involve. This is a love story for love story suckers, and not for the usual crowd to browse through. Romantic lovers will sure love this! Give it a shot!

The other day, one guy, who was new to wattpad was asking me all these questions about how it works. So here I am going to give the basic steps to sign in and explain how it works.

Basically, you can access wattpad in mobile or by using PC. We will go through the necessary steps to make you a wattpader!

How to sign in?

Signing in to wattpad is easy. You can login with your facebook account, or to create a account you just need to enter your username, email and password. Bang! You now have an account in wattpad!

Once you lo in again in the same mobile, you need not give your password at all. Just give your mail id and voila! you can directly go into your library! This is one of the features that comes in handy for me when I hard reset and forget the password.

How to select stories?

You can just type the genre you want to in the ‘Search’ box in ‘Discover’ tab, or if you are using it in PC, you can select one from the drop down list of Discover. Select a story that you find interesting. Generally the author will provide a quick outline of the story and you can decide to opt for it, by reading it.There will also be recommendations depending on the type of the story you read, once you have started using it.

There are two kinds of story: One is completed story and the other is ongoing story. You can check whether a story is completed or not by scrolling to the end of the story in mobile or just clicking on the story in PC, which will prompt a snap in front in which it will be specified whether the story is ongoing or completed. Some prefer completed ones, while some likes a little suspense to wait for the update. Go for your choice!

We will see a detailed way of selecting the right story for you in a latter post.

How to add stories?

Just click on ‘Add to Library’ option in the story and Voila! your story will now be present in the ‘Library’. You can remove it from library easily by clicking on remove.

Once you have added it to the Library you can open the story and change the mode of scrolling/paging, background, fonts and brightness according to your choice. You can like/comment on a chapter, which is pretty much self-explanatory once you open the story.

Can I use it offline?

Yes, you can(if you have it on mobile, obviously)! The best part I love about wattpad is the ability to read offline. Once you have added the story to the library, you could just open the story and scroll it for a few pages and then the entire story would be downloaded in your mobile! You can read it wherever you want!

Once you have completed a story, you can move it to the ‘Archives’, but you will not be able to read it offline once you moved it there. Archives is most important to me because this is where I save the stories I have read and then browse through it to review it on this blog!

A drawback is if you clear data for the app or uninstall and install again the Archives become blank, but you can still access all the archived stories from the browser.

What are the reading lists for?

The Reading List are the place where you can add the stories you like. You can create number of lists of your own choice and make it public for others to see, or you can have it privately.

To follow and be followed

You can follow your friends to see their new updates on the reading lists, or you could follow any author or any interesting person of your choice. You can view their activity on the ‘News feed’ tab.

You can also send messages like any other social networking site.

What are notifications for?

Notifications are for receiving info about new followers or any new story updates.

I think I have pretty much covered every basic thing one need to know about wattpad. If you have any more question feel free to ping me!

Hello once again! So, guys take a guess from the title about the main theme of the story?

I bet many of you would have went with the sad endings between lovers.

Sorry guys, you are wrong! The title is very deceptive as it makes one think come to the most usual conclusion.

‘HOW I LOST YOU’ by JanetGurtler is not the tale of lovers, but about friends. Not those boyfriend-girlfriend stories, but of real best friends.

Grace and Kya are one of these besties who are like the most cool friends one would be jealous of. They are awesome mates when it comes to paintball, and would make even bigger guys flunk in front of them. They always do everything together…. That is what Grace thought. Until she sees her other mutual friend, James, acting a little weird towards Kya.

There occurs many scenarios which hints us of the way the story is going to mould into, but I was so submerged in it that I did not realise it until the truth hit me finally!

James hints to Grace about the behavior of Kya. She even sees it with her own eyes. But Grace offers concessions, because of a particular stage Kya had to cross in her younger ages. Grace often comes up with excuses for Kya, citing the happening in her childhood. Only after a certain stage did she realise that Kya is not at all what she looks like to her.

Though the title itself signifies the end of the story, it is really a brave move to expose the end of the story and still have the readers hooked up to it! Kudos to JanetGurtler for it!

A different change of scenario to freshen in 🙂

Finding love in coffee shop – Conflicting Emotions

Happy New year guys! Let this year bring lots of happiness to you 🙂

Finding love in coffee shop is a romantic story with a mix of dark secrets and the strains in relationships. This one, by Jordan, is most easily the romantic story which also is not so simple and breezy as the title seems. This is a lot intense with strong emotions hidden underneath the simple title.
Katie, is a college student who lives with her brother. She happens to meet the handsome and charming Will in the coffee shop. They both start to get liking for each other. Will also seems to hit off with her brother. It may seem like a normal romance between two people, but it is not.

With Katie’s brother getting into trouble and Will’s ugly past catches up to him, though he tried to turn a new leaf in his life.  Katie is not so happy about the turn of events in the lives of her loved ones.  With troubled mind, she takes a harsh decision for her brother.
She is badly mistaken if she thinks that everything is going to br solved. She gets caught up in middle of Will’s past. How they get themselves out of it is what the climax is.
This one is w little different love story than the other Teen fiction ones or even the usual romantic ones. There is some serious issues underneath the all-so-beautiful romance, on par with the mystery surrounding the lead pairs.

Go for it guys and let me know how it turned out for you 🙂
